Crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has criticised Nigerians who have turned against luxury shopper Kaycee Luxury following his arrest by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over an alleged cocaine trafficking case.
Bobrisky made his position known in a social media post on Wednesday, questioning what he described as the sudden change in attitude among some people who previously associated closely with Kaycee Luxury and celebrated his lifestyle.
“Nigerians are the biggest hypocrites. So many of you have a lot to say about KC Luxury now, but you couldn’t say any of it to his face before he got arrested,” Bobrisky wrote.
He accused some of Kaycee Luxury’s associates of distancing themselves from him only after the drug-related allegations became public.
“Many of you were busy kissing his ass before his arrest, but the moment he got arrested, you suddenly found your voices and opinions,” he added.
Bobrisky said he did not have a personal friendship with Kaycee Luxury but maintained that people should distinguish between condemning an alleged offence and abandoning someone they previously regarded as a friend.
According to him, he would not disown a close friend because of allegations or wrongdoing, although he would condemn any unlawful act.
“I will never deny any of my friends regardless of his/her offense. I will condemn his act but still stand tall for him or her. I can see some of his friends denying him, what a pity,” he said.
Bobrisky acknowledged that people who had no personal relationship with Kaycee Luxury had the right to condemn the allegations against him.
However, he argued that those who had maintained close relationships with him should not suddenly distance themselves or pretend they never knew him.
“I understand if you don’t know him or he’s not ur friend, hearing that offense alone worth castigating him but his close friends naaaa. 2026 nobody dey get bestie again o,” Bobrisky added.
Kaycee Luxury was recently arrested by the NDLEA in connection with an alleged cocaine trafficking case involving drugs valued at about N39 billion. The arrest and subsequent allegations have generated significant attention and reactions on social media.
