Bishop Dayo Olutayo, General Overseer of Unity Worship Centre and younger brother to Faith Oyedepo, has shocked his congregation by introducing a new wife, Funlola Akinrinde, during a Sunday service on December 14, 2025.
Faith Oyedepo is the wife of Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel), from which Bishop Dayo previously broke away.
In a now-viral video, Bishop Olutayo presented Funlola as the new “Mummy G.O.” of the church, sparking mixed reactions from members.
Reports indicate that he had recently divorced his wife of 33 years, Boluwatife Olutayo. Addressing the congregation, the bishop said:
“Whoever wants to be angry, should be angry. I won’t say don’t be angry. Help me welcome Funlola Akinrinde. This is my wife… If you are happy, clap; if you are not happy, clap—you have no choice.”
He continued, “I’m letting all members, family, and friends of Unity Worship Centre know that your pastor is married. For many of you, the events have been unfolding quickly.”
Reflecting on his personal struggles, Bishop Dayo claimed, “I have suffered. I have never been married. I didn’t know. When I discovered the conspiracy, my life became a target.”
“I call heaven and earth to witness today—this is the altar of holiness—I won’t lie. This is the first time in my life I am getting married.”
He urged members to keep praying for him and to continue seeing him as a servant of God. He hinted that more revelations would unfold in the coming weeks:
“Mark today’s date, December 14th. Watch what happens between now and January 14th—you’ll understand what I’m talking about.”
