The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the death of a notorious bandit, identified as Terkaa Samuel of Jandekyula in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State, during a patrol operation in the state.
According to Linda Ikeji’s Blog, the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, said the incident occurred on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, near Channel Two, Zaki‑Biam in Ukum Local Government Area, following credible intelligence that a group of armed bandits were in the area, allegedly planning to kidnap a hotelier,
Police operatives from the Ukum Division were swiftly deployed to the scene. Upon sighting the patrol team, the suspects opened fire. In the ensuing gun duel, one of the bandits sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was rushed to General Hospital, Zaki‑Biam, where he was later confirmed dead.
DSP Edet further confirmed that the deceased was later identified as Terkaa Samuel, a wanted bandit linked to multiple criminal activities. Items recovered from the scene include a locally fabricated Beretta pistol, two rounds of live 9mm ammunition, and a bag of charms,
