Lagos, Nigeria – 9 December 2025 – The Airtel Africa Foundation has announced the opening of its Undergraduate Tech Scholarship application portal in Nigeria, targeting first-year university students with strong academic potential. The initiative offers comprehensive financial support to help students accelerate their studies in technology and related fields.
The scholarship covers full tuition, accommodation, and essential study materials for eligible 100-level students. It is a key component of the Foundation’s F.E.E.D. agenda, which promotes Financial Empowerment, Education, Environmental Protection, and Digital Inclusion, with a focus on breaking financial barriers for talented youth.
Dinesh Balsingh, CEO of Airtel Nigeria, encouraged students to seize the opportunity, stating:
“Education is one of the most powerful tools for national development. – University of Nigeria, Nsukka

– University of Benin
– Obafemi Awolowo University
– University of Ilorin
– Tai Solarin University of Education
Dr. Segun Ogunsanya, Chairman of the Airtel Africa Foundation, emphasized the scholarship’s long-term impact:
“Young Africans are full of talent and ambition. Many simply need a fair chance to pursue their education without financial pressure. This scholarship reflects our belief that investing in their future will empower families, strengthen communities, and advance Africa’s digital future.
To qualify, applicants must:
– Be currently enrolled in 100-level
– Score a minimum of 230 in JAMB
– Have at least five credits in WAEC (including English and Mathematics) in a single sitting
Required documents include*:

– University admission letter
– WAEC certificate
– Student ID card
– Academic transcript or university results.
