Infinix is stepping up its affordable smartphone offering with the SMART 20 HD, a device designed to deliver smoother performance, louder audio, AI-powered features and improved durability for everyday users.
The smartphone combines a 6.7-inch display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a 5,000mAh battery, stereo speakers and practical artificial intelligence tools aimed at students, young professionals and entertainment lovers.
As smartphone users increasingly demand better performance without necessarily spending more on premium devices, the SMART 20 HD seeks to bridge the gap between affordability and functionality.
120Hz Display Promises Smoother Performance
One of the device’s major attractions is its 6.7-inch display, which supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
The feature is designed to make scrolling, animations and screen transitions appear smoother when users browse social media, switch between applications, read articles or watch videos.
The display also supports High Brightness Mode of up to 700 nits, helping improve screen visibility in bright outdoor conditions.
These features could appeal to users who spend considerable time on their smartphones for communication, entertainment, online learning and everyday activities.
Infinix Boosts Audio With 300% Ultra Volume
Beyond its display, the SMART 20 HD features dual stereo speakers supported by DTS Sound and a 300% Ultra Volume function.
According to the product specifications, the audio system is designed to deliver louder sound for music, videos, voice notes and calls.
The enhanced volume feature could be particularly useful for users in noisy environments who need to hear audio more clearly without immediately resorting to headphones.
However, actual sound quality and loudness may vary depending on the content being played and the listening environment.
AI Features Target Students, Professionals
Artificial intelligence is another key selling point of the Infinix SMART 20 HD.
The smartphone introduces One-Tap Infinix AI, a collection of tools designed to assist users with everyday tasks.
Its AI Writing feature can help users create written content, while AI Summarising is designed to condense information from sources such as articles, web pages and voice recordings.
The device also features AI Problem Solving, which can analyse questions captured in photographs and provide answers or explanations.
Through Folax, Infinix’s voice assistant, users can access supported functions by voice. A long press of the power button provides a shortcut to the assistant.
These tools could be useful for students researching assignments, professionals drafting messages and users seeking quicker ways to process information.
However, the availability and performance of individual AI functions may depend on software support, connectivity and other operating conditions.
Processor, Memory Designed for Everyday Tasks
The SMART 20 HD is powered by the T7250 octa-core processor and comes with 3GB of RAM, expandable through software-based memory extension to up to 6GB, alongside 64GB of internal storage.
The memory extension feature uses available storage to supplement physical RAM. It should not be confused with having 6GB of physical RAM.
Infinix also says the smartphone has undergone TÜV Fluency testing covering a 48-month period, reflecting the company’s focus on maintaining a consistent everyday user experience over time.
Actual performance and long-term responsiveness will depend on application demands, storage availability, software updates and usage habits.
5,000mAh Battery Supports Daily Use
Battery life remains an important consideration for smartphone buyers, particularly those who depend on their devices throughout the day.
The SMART 20 HD comes with a 5,000mAh battery and AI Charging technology designed to help manage charging and battery health.
Infinix’s stated laboratory figures include up to 28 days of 4G standby time. However, standby performance differs significantly from active usage, and real-world battery life will depend on network conditions, screen brightness, applications and other factors.
The device also features Dynamic Bar, which provides at-a-glance updates for selected activities, including incoming calls, recording and navigation.
An Always-On Display feature allows users to view supported information without fully unlocking the smartphone.
IP64 Rating Adds Dust and Water Protection
For users who carry their smartphones throughout the day, durability is another important consideration.
The SMART 20 HD carries an IP64 rating, indicating protection against dust and splashing water under specified test conditions.
The device’s touch display is also designed to remain responsive when used with wet or greasy fingers.
Infinix says its laboratory durability assessments included a repeated drop test conducted 25,000 times, a 1.5-metre drop-resistance test and exposure to temperatures of up to 70°C.
These are manufacturer-reported test results and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the phone will withstand every type of fall, extreme temperature or water exposure.
Users are advised to avoid deliberately exposing the device to water beyond its rated protection.
Bluetooth Calling Offers Alternative Connectivity
Another feature of the SMART 20 HD is UltraLink Free Call via Bluetooth.
According to Infinix, the feature enables compatible smartphones to communicate through Bluetooth when conventional mobile network connectivity is unavailable.
It supports calls, text messages and voice messages of less than 60 seconds, with a stated communication range of up to 150 metres in unobstructed conditions.
The feature could prove useful in certain outdoor settings and locations where mobile coverage is unreliable, although its usefulness depends on device compatibility, proximity and environmental conditions.
Affordable Smartphone Market Gets More Competitive
The Infinix SMART 20 HD reflects changing expectations in the affordable smartphone market, where buyers increasingly seek more than basic calling and messaging capabilities.
Its combination of a 120Hz display, enhanced stereo audio, AI-powered tools, a 5,000mAh battery, IP64 protection and additional connectivity features positions the device around everyday convenience and entertainment.
For students, young professionals and other budget-conscious consumers, these features could make the smartphone worth considering, particularly for browsing, video streaming, communication and routine productivity.
Nevertheless, prospective buyers should also consider the phone’s local retail price, software support, camera performance, charging speed and real-world performance before making a purchase.
With competition intensifying in the entry-level smartphone segment, the SMART 20 HD adds another option for consumers seeking practical features in a device designed for everyday use.
