JMG Limited has called for greater commitment to environmental conservation, responsible waste management and cleaner energy solutions as the world marks World Cleanup Day.
World Cleanup Day, observed annually on September 20, is being marked this year with the theme, “From Clean Plates to Clean Cities,” highlighting the need to address food waste, responsible consumption, the circular economy and sustainable urban waste management.
JMG, a Nigerian electro-mechanical company, said the global campaign aligns with its sustainability approach, which combines community-based environmental action with cleaner and more efficient energy solutions.
The company demonstrated its commitment to environmental conservation last year when its management and employees joined residents of Gbagada, Lagos, in a community cleanup exercise.
The exercise involved removing waste, encouraging proper waste separation and promoting shared responsibility for maintaining a clean environment.
JMG, however, said environmental responsibility should go beyond the physical removal of waste to include the adoption of cleaner energy systems and more sustainable ways of consuming resources.
The company said its renewable energy solutions are helping organisations explore cleaner and more reliable alternatives to conventional power sources.
One of its projects is a solar-hybrid power installation at the Agboyi-Ketu Primary Health Care Centre in Lagos, where the system supports electricity supply for critical healthcare services, including emergency care, maternity services, immunisation and diagnostics.
According to JMG, the project demonstrates how businesses can contribute to environmental sustainability through the way energy is generated, supplied and consumed.
Speaking on the company’s approach to environmental sustainability, JMG’s Chief Commercial Officer, Rabi Jammal, said its sustainability strategy is centred on people, innovation and technology.

Jammal said the company’s commitment to sustainability reflects its broader effort to deploy technology and innovation to improve lives, support communities and protect the environment.
As World Cleanup Day is observed globally, JMG urged businesses, communities and individuals to look beyond visible pollution and examine the habits and systems that contribute to environmental degradation.
The company provides engineering and technical services covering mechanical, electrical and electronic, computer and chemical engineering, with solutions spanning power generation, electrical infrastructure, vertical transportation, cooling systems and air compressors.
