The family of prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, has announced his death at the age of 64.
Orbih died on Monday, August 31, 2026, according to a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih on behalf of the family.
Born on October 27, 1961, in Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Orbih would have turned 65 on October 27, 2026.
The family described him as a beloved brother, husband, father and uncle, announcing his death “with profound sadness and a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of the Almighty God.”
The statement said, “The family of Chief M.C.K. Orbih announce the passing of our beloved brother, husband, father and uncle, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, who passed away on Monday, 31 August 2026.”
Orbih is survived by his wife, Florence Orbih, and children, Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Mildred Omonemi Orbih, alongside his siblings and other members of the extended family.
The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers and said details of his burial arrangements would be announced in due course.
Orbih was a prominent PDP member and served as the party’s South-South Zonal Chairman.
In 2024, he was appointed Chairman of the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, by the Edo State Government. The appointment was contained in a statement issued by the then Secretary to the Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
