Wema Bank has rewarded 273 customers with a total of ₦17.96 million within one month of launching Season 5 of its flagship “5 for 5 Rewards” campaign, underscoring the strong early performance of the initiative and the bank’s commitment to rewarding everyday banking activity.
Launched on May 2, 2026, as part of the bank’s 81st anniversary celebrations, the latest season of the campaign features a more structured and inclusive rewards system designed to promote positive financial behaviour while recognising customer loyalty across the Youth, Women, and Mass Market segments.
The campaign kicked off with a special activation at Ikeja City Mall, where 81 customers each received ₦81,000, totalling ₦6.56 million in rewards on launch day. Since then, an additional 192 customers have been rewarded through daily and monthly draws within the first month.
In the Youth segment, 37 students received a combined ₦4.4 million in rewards. This includes 20 students who received ₦50,000 each through PocketMoni rewards and 17 university students who received ₦200,000 each as tuition support.
The Women category also recorded notable participation, with 12 customers receiving ₦150,000 each under the #SelfCare reward segment. The Mass Market segment accounted for the highest number of winners, with 120 customers receiving daily cash rewards, while 23 customers won ₦200,000 each in the monthly draw. Altogether, the segment delivered ₦5.2 million in rewards within the period.
Speaking on the campaign’s impact, Wema Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Moruf Oseni, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to meaningful customer engagement.
“At Wema Bank, we believe loyalty should be rewarded in ways that are transparent, accessible, and impactful. The response to Season 5 of the 5 for 5 Rewards campaign has been encouraging, and seeing hundreds of customers benefit within just one month reinforces our belief that everyday banking should create everyday opportunities,” he said.
He added that the initiative goes beyond rewarding transactions, noting that it is also designed to encourage healthier financial habits and deliver real value to customers.
“This is only the beginning. With more reward categories, more winners, and more opportunities ahead, we remain committed to creating meaningful impact and ensuring more Nigerians experience the value of banking with Wema Bank,” he added.
To participate, customers are required to open or reactivate a Wema Bank account, fund it with at least ₦5,000, maintain an average monthly balance of ₦5,000, and complete at least five transactions monthly using the ALAT app, Wema/ALAT cards, or *945#.
The bank has earmarked over ₦170 million for rewards between May and December 2026, with thousands more customers expected to benefit as the campaign continues.
