Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represents Edo State, has alleged that the Senate, under the leadership of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, came under attack from officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited) over allegations that lawmakers were nominating their children for employment in the organisation.
Speaking in a media report by AIT News, Oshiomhole said the allegations had put the integrity of the Senate into question and created tension within the chamber.
He also referenced financial concerns raised in connection with the NNPC, including disputed figures involving trillions of naira, which he said had not been properly clarified or supported with full details.
According to him, the situation raised serious concerns about oversight and decision-making, especially if conclusions were drawn without complete and verified information.
