The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, declaring that he serves all residents of the state regardless of religious or traditional affiliations.
Soludo made the remarks while addressing the Anglican Diocesan Synod held in Ezira, Orumba South Local Government Area of the state.
He expressed appreciation to citizens for their support during the last gubernatorial election, stressing that his mandate cuts across religious and ethnic divides.
“I am the Governor of all denominations, Christians, Muslims, and traditionalists. Everyone has the freedom of worship in Anambra. We are all one, and we must celebrate our common humanity,” he said.
The governor warned against growing global divisions, noting that humanity faces increasing fragmentation even within religious communities. He urged citizens to embrace unity and shared identity.
Soludo also emphasized that competence remains the key criterion for appointments in his administration.
“For me, it is about the value proposition you bring to the table. Most of the people I have appointed are chosen because they can get the job done,” he explained.
He reiterated his commitment to delivering on his developmental agenda and called for patience from the people of Anambra State as ongoing reforms continue.
“Whoever can get the job done is the person I will hire,” he added.
The governor commended the Anglican Church for establishing a nursing school in Isulo, describing it as a valuable contribution to the state’s development, particularly in education and healthcare.
He encouraged religious institutions to continue investing in social infrastructure while considering the economic realities of their communities.
Earlier, the Anglican Bishop of Aguata, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, commended the governor’s developmental efforts and assured him of continued prayers and support from the church.
The synod provided a platform for Soludo to restate his vision of unity, merit-based governance, and collaborative development in Anambra State.
