The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has embarked on strategic familiarization visits to the Federal Road Safety Corps and the Nigerian Correctional Service in Ogun State as part of efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and enhance public safety across the state.
During the visits, the police commissioner emphasized that effective security management requires sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing, mutual support and coordinated engagement among agencies within the nation’s internal security architecture.
At the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun State Command, CP Ojajuni was received by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, alongside senior officers of the corps.
Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in traffic management, highway patrol operations, accident prevention strategies, emergency response coordination and public safety advocacy within Ogun State.
The police commissioner commended the FRSC for its professionalism, dedication and sustained efforts toward promoting road safety and reducing road traffic crashes across the state.
Ojajuni particularly praised the FRSC Special Marshal Initiative, describing it as a commendable community-based partnership structure comparable to the Police Community Relations Committee.
According to him, the initiative has continued to enhance public participation, civic responsibility, traffic management support and community involvement in promoting safety, discipline and orderliness in society.
At the Nigerian Correctional Service, Ogun State Command, the Controller of Corrections, Abioye Kamoru Adesina, received the police commissioner and his delegation.
Their discussions centered on strengthening collaboration within the criminal justice system, custodial security, inmate management and post-incarceration rehabilitation processes.
CP Ojajuni commended ongoing reforms within the Nigerian Correctional Service, especially in the areas of inmate education, vocational skills acquisition, personal development programmes, behavioural reformation and rehabilitation initiatives aimed at transforming inmates into productive citizens after reintegration into society.
He described the correctional reforms as progressive and impactful, noting that rehabilitation and reformation remain critical to reducing recidivism and ensuring long-term societal stability.
During the visits, the commissioner also presented copies of The New Dawn, the flagship newspaper of the Nigeria Police Force, to the heads of the respective agencies as part of efforts to strengthen institutional relationships, promote strategic communication and enhance inter-agency information sharing.
Ojajuni appreciated the leadership and personnel of both the FRSC and the Nigerian Correctional Service for their professionalism, dedication and continued contributions to public safety and national security.
He reiterated that effective policing and sustainable security management can only be achieved through strong inter-agency collaboration, intelligence sharing, coordinated operational strategies and mutual institutional support.
The police commissioner further reaffirmed the commitment of the Ogun State Police Command to sustaining productive partnerships and promoting collective efforts aimed at ensuring peace, protection of lives and property, and security stability across Ogun State.
