The newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has officially assumed duty at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Abuja.
Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu was warmly received by staff members of the ministry led by the Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Dunoma Umar Ahmed, alongside Directors-General of agencies operating under the ministry.
Her arrival marked the formal commencement of her responsibilities as Nigeria’s chief diplomat, as ministry officials welcomed her into office and pledged their support toward advancing the country’s foreign policy objectives and international relations.
During the reception, senior officials expressed confidence in the minister’s leadership, describing her appointment as a significant step toward strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements and global partnerships.
The assumption of duty ceremony also featured interactions with top management staff and representatives of agencies under the ministry, who reiterated their commitment to working closely with the new minister in promoting Nigeria’s interests abroad.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu is expected to oversee key diplomatic initiatives, regional cooperation efforts, and international engagements aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s image and strategic relationships across the world.
