A cleric with the Church of Christ in Nations, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has recounted his alleged involvement in a bank robbery that took place in Jos in 1980, according to a video shared by Zagazola on X (formerly Twitter).
In the video, Dachomo disclosed details of the incident during a recent discussion with a foreign media outlet, stating that he was part of a gang that carried out the robbery in Plateau State.
Often described as a controversial figure, the cleric said the operation was carefully planned and executed, noting that it was not a spontaneous act but one that involved coordination among members of the group.
He explained that the gang operated under a defined leadership structure, adding that the robbery was led by an individual he considered a close associate at the time. According to him, the involvement of trusted members contributed to the group’s ability to execute the operation without immediate detection.
Dachomo described the robbery as a significant event in his early life, revealing that a substantial amount of money was stolen, underscoring the scale and organisation of the crime. He also spoke about his personal relationship with the alleged leader of the gang, whom he identified as his best friend at the time, suggesting that this connection influenced his decision to participate in the high-risk operation.
The cleric also recounted what he described as a dramatic spiritual encounter that later transformed his life. He said the experience occurred while he was asleep, claiming he was unaware he was “operating with 14 demons” until he encountered Jesus.
According to him, the encounter unfolded like a spiritual battle, with Jesus appearing alongside seven angels who were instructed to confront and defeat the alleged demonic forces.
“I was just an observer, seeing the drama being played out in my life. Jesus ordered the seven angels to strike the enemy. In fact, they were killed instantly,” he said.
Dachomo added that he attempted to hide among what he described as fallen figures but was eventually discovered.
“I covered myself as if I was dead, but the master Jesus said there was somebody that had not been killed.
When they began to search, I had to stand up and beg for forgiveness. I said I would never do that again,” he said.
He described the experience as a turning point in his life, noting that it led to a complete personal transformation.
“I didn’t know I would encounter God, but He helped me. After that encounter, I tried to smoke a cigarette, but I couldn’t. The urge to smoke was broken in my life,” he added.
