The trial of Adeniyi Kayode, the driver involved in the fatal accident with Anthony Joshua’s vehicle, has been adjourned to February 25, 2026, by the Sagamu Magistrate Court in Ogun State.
Kayode appeared in court on Tuesday, January 20, for the continuation of his trial. Prosecuting counsel Richard Nigiwe informed the court that three out of four witnesses were present, including officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO).
Nigiwe requested an adjournment to allow them to duplicate the case file and present it to the Ogun State Attorney-General for legal advice, but defence counsel Abiodun Olalekan objected, arguing that the trial should start since witnesses were present.
Magistrate Somefun ruled that the case be adjourned to February 25 to enable the prosecutor seek legal advice.
