Commander Salau Hammed further emphasized that the primary aim of the proposed Road Safety Enlightenment Centre is to significantly improve compliance with traffic regulations through offender education, counselling, and correction, rather than punishment.
“Our goal is to fully utilize the centre to enhance traffic law compliance, educate and counsel offenders, and serve as a correctional facility for persistent violators. TRACE is an agency that prioritizes advocacy over enforcement, focusing more on corrective approaches than punitive actions,” he explained.
He expressed gratitude to the TRACE leadership at the headquarters, especially Commander Ajibade Adekunle, the Zonal Commander for Ogun West, for their encouragement and support. He also acknowledged various corporate bodies and individuals who contributed to initiating the project.
