The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has declared illegal any admission offered into the Law Faculty of Lead City University, warning candidates to disregard such offers.
In a statement issued on Thursday by its Public Communications Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the Board said the admissions were not processed through the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), the only approved platform for tertiary institution admissions in Nigeria.
JAMB explained that the development follows a five-year suspension placed on law admissions at the university by the Council of Legal Education in June 2024 over inadequate infrastructure and violations of the approved admission quota.
The Board stressed that any admission not processed through CAPS is invalid and will not be recognised. It advised affected candidates to ignore such offers and apply for admission through the proper process using the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB also warned institutions against attempting to regularise such admissions through inter-university transfers, stating that transfers without a valid CAPS-approved admission will not be endorsed.
