The MTN Foundation recently hosted its 2025 Scholarship Award and Alumni Induction Ceremony at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja. The event brought together government officials, academic leaders, and industry stakeholders to honor outstanding Nigerian students who have distinguished themselves in their studies.
The ceremony was a celebration of the power of education and corporate support, with attendees expressing their gratitude for the MTN Foundation’s continued investment in the country’s human capital development. The Foundation’s scholarship scheme, which has awarded over 14,000 scholarships to date, was praised for its commitment to building a knowledge-driven nation.
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, commended the MTN Foundation for its impact, highlighting a proposed integration of the MTN Skills Academy E-learning platform into the NYSC program. This collaboration aims to provide corps members with access to globally recognized digital entrepreneurship courses.
The Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, emphasized that the scholarship program celebrates excellence, resilience, and purpose, recognizing that talent exists everywhere. The new scholars received a ₦300,000 annual grant, with one of the recipients, Olatunji Aishat Toyin, expressing her gratitude, stating that the scholarship is a platform that inspires students to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to society.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Special Assistant to the President, Office of the Vice President, Workforce Development, and representatives from the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, and the National Universities Commission.
