In a stunning display of diplomatic recklessness, Israel under Netanyahu’s leadership has managed to clash with multiple countries, including two superpowers and NATO’s second-largest military power, in just one week, as it prepares for a potential attack on Iran.
The clashes began with Turkey, over Israel’s latest supply of weapons to Cyprus and its frequent bombardment of Syria, which has led to Turkey deploying radar/missile systems in Syria to intercept Israeli missiles. Turkey has also offered to join Iran in fighting Israel and help Egypt fortify the Sinai highlands overlooking Israel.
But Turkey is not the only country Israel has clashed with. China has vowed to intensify military support for Iran, including helping Iran jam Israeli communication systems, in response to Israel’s supply of weapons to Taiwan. Russia has also vowed to intensify military support for Iran, including helping Iran with attack fighter jets against F35s and 52s, in response to Israel’s supply of weapons to Ukraine.
Saudi Arabia has offered to join China and Russia in declaring support for Iran during Israel’s next attack, after Netanyahu declared he will prevent America from selling F-35s to Saudi Arabia. The African Union has also condemned Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, a breakaway province of Somalia, with even the United States still recognizing Somaliland as Somalian land.
But the clashes don’t stop there. Israel has also clashed with France over Lebanon, Jordan over the West Bank, Egypt over the Sinai and Somaliland, and Ghana over diplomatic expulsions.
These clashes have led to increased tensions and diplomatic isolation for Israel, with countries like Turkey and Saudi Arabia forming unexpected alliances with Iran. Netanyahu’s actions have pushed China and Russia to support Iran, further complicating the situation.
As Israel prepares for a potential attack on Iran, it seems to be doing everything possible to isolate itself globally and strengthen Iran’s position. With multiple countries warning of an impending war, the question on everyone’s mind is: what’s next?
