Valency SPV PLC has listed a ₦4.26 billion five-year fixed-rate bond on the FMDQ Securities Exchange, marking another development in efforts to expand access to long-term funding through Nigeria’s debt capital market.
The bond, which carries an interest rate of 21 per cent, was approved for listing under the company’s ₦50 billion Bond Issuance Programme following approval by the Board Listings and Markets Committee of FMDQ Exchange.
The issuance was sponsored by FirstCap Limited as Lead Sponsor and Coronation Merchant Bank Limited. Both institutions are Registration Members (Listings) of the Exchange.
Valency SPV PLC is a special purpose vehicle established to raise capital through the debt capital market. Proceeds from the bond issuance are expected to support the company’s financing objectives and business plans.
Commenting on the listing, the Group Chief Operating Officer of FMDQ Group PLC, Ms Tumi Sekoni, said the transaction demonstrated the importance of debt capital markets in providing businesses with access to long-term financing.
She noted that FMDQ Exchange remained committed to providing a transparent and efficient marketplace that connects issuers with investors through the listing of diverse fixed-income securities.
According to her, the Exchange would continue to support the development of Nigeria’s financial markets by facilitating access to capital and creating investment opportunities.
FMDQ Exchange also reaffirmed its commitment to helping businesses across different sectors access debt capital markets to meet funding requirements, including business expansion, refinancing, infrastructure development and working capital needs.
The Exchange said its efforts to broaden the range of securities available to investors, promote effective price discovery and maintain high standards of governance and market integrity would further strengthen investor confidence and encourage wider market participation.
