JMG Limited, an electromechanical solutions provider, has partnered with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to distribute food supplies to more than 400 women in Majidun, Ikorodu, Lagos State, as part of activities marking the 2026 World Food Day.
The outreach, held on October 17, 2026, was aimed at providing relief to vulnerable households and demonstrating the role of corporate organisations in addressing hunger and supporting community development.
The initiative began at the Lagos Food Bank Initiative’s headquarters, where JMG’s management team and staff joined volunteers to package food items for distribution.
The team was received by the organisation’s Executive Director, Dr Michael Sunbola, alongside Samita Keshinro, Muame Agbosi and other staff members and volunteers. The visitors also toured the facility before proceeding to Majidun for the community outreach.
The programme commenced with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative pledge, reaffirming both organisations’ commitment to tackling hunger and supporting vulnerable families.
Speaking at the event, JMG’s Chief Operating Officer, Christian G. Kozma, emphasised the importance of supporting women and strengthening communities.
He said the initiative was designed to reach more than 400 women in Ikorodu, adding that women play critical roles in families, communities and organisations.
According to him, the outreach reflects JMG’s commitment to women’s advancement and its determination to extend its social impact beyond its core business activities.
JMG’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Gloria Ibeziako, said addressing hunger required collective responsibility and practical interventions from individuals and organisations.
She noted that the company was proud to contribute to providing food for families in need, stressing that collaborative efforts could help ease hardship and create opportunities for vulnerable households.
The company’s Head of Marketing, Oluwatomi Faniran, said the partnership demonstrated the value of collaboration in addressing pressing social challenges.
She explained that working with community-focused organisations such as the Lagos Food Bank Initiative enabled businesses to deliver meaningful support to people who needed it most.
In his remarks, Sunbola commended JMG for supporting the initiative, noting that the food boxes distributed during the exercise were designed to support families of five.
He said the intervention would bring relief and hope to households facing difficulties in securing their daily meals.
A beneficiary, Morenike Adigun, expressed appreciation to both organisations, saying the food supplies would help reduce the financial pressure associated with feeding her family.
She called for more initiatives that would extend assistance to vulnerable residents.
The Baale of Majidun Community, Chief Alex Olusegun Omoyele, also thanked JMG and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative for supporting residents and helping ease the burden on local households.
The initiative highlights the role of private-sector organisations in complementing community-based efforts to tackle hunger and improve social welfare.
For JMG, the intervention represents an expression of corporate citizenship, demonstrating that business contributions to society extend beyond commercial activities to include practical support for communities and vulnerable families.
