The Rector of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Dr. Engr. Ibraheem Adedotun Abdul, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, calling for renewed commitment to peace, unity, innovation and national development.
Abdul, in an Independence Day message on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Academic Board, staff, students and the entire YABATECH community, congratulated Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora.
He described the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s journey since independence, celebrate the resilience and creativity of its people, and renew efforts towards building a peaceful, prosperous and united nation.
The Rector reaffirmed YABATECH’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s development through technological education, vocational training, innovation, entrepreneurship and human-capital development.
According to him, the institution will continue to equip students with relevant knowledge, practical skills, entrepreneurial capacity and values needed to become productive citizens and responsible leaders.
Abdul also urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to believe in the Nigerian project and contribute positively to the growth and development of the country.
He noted that every citizen has a role to play in building a nation where excellence, innovation, integrity, justice, peace and opportunity can thrive.
The Rector said the 66th Independence Anniversary should go beyond celebrating Nigeria’s past, stressing that it should serve as a renewed commitment to building the country for present and future generations.
He prayed for continued peace, unity, stability and sustainable development in Nigeria, while expressing optimism that the ingenuity and resilience of Nigerians would continue to propel the country towards greater heights.
“Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria,” Abdul said.
