First Bank of Nigeria has officially debunked claims circulating in a viral WhatsApp audio alleging that its mobile banking platform, FirstMobile, was compromised.
In a statement released to reassure account holders and stakeholders, the financial institution declared the claims false and misleading. The bank confirmed that the FirstMobile application remains secure, fully operational, and protected by robust cybersecurity infrastructure.
To safeguard user data and transactions, FirstBank noted that it continues to invest in technology and security protocols designed to maintain resilience and reliability across all its digital platforms.
”We assure our customers and other stakeholders that their funds remain safe and secure, and that the FirstMobile application and all other FirstBank digital channels continue to operate securely,” the bank stated.
FirstBank urged the public to disregard the fraudulent voice message, avoid spreading unverified information, and rely exclusively on its official, verified communication channels for authentic updates.
