Graduation ceremony features awards, cultural performances, leadership inauguration and inspiring messages for the Class of 2026
DAN & DAV Schools, Alapere, Lagos, has celebrated its 2026 graduating class at a colourful graduation ceremony held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at TamRoyal Hall, Alapere.
The ceremony, organised under the theme “Role Model”, brought together graduating students, parents, teachers, guardians and well-wishers to celebrate the academic achievements, character and leadership development of the Class of 2026.
DAN & DAV Schools, which operates under the motto “Raising Leaders, Shaping Tomorrow,” opened the ceremony with a welcome and interaction session, followed by an opening prayer, the National Anthem, School Anthem and recognition of guests.
Chairman Charges Graduands to Dream Boldly:
The Chairman of the Day, Mr. Chimbo Samuel Uwaoma, welcomed guests and congratulated the graduating students, urging them to approach the next phase of their lives with courage and determination.
He said the graduation was not an end but the beginning of a new chapter, encouraging the graduands to dream boldly, work hard and make their school proud.
The Proprietress, Mrs. Yewande Folasade Okubanjo, also congratulated the graduating students and expressed confidence in their ability to succeed beyond the school environment.
“Cheers to our graduating students. Your readiness to learn, attitude and good conduct will be remembered as we usher you into the world of unending possibilities. We trust God that you’ll find your path in life,” she said.
The Principal, Mrs. Kate Wuraola Adebanjo, charged the Class of 2026 to uphold the values and standards instilled in them by the school.
“You carry that legacy. Go out and prove that when you carry high standards, there is no limit to what you can achieve,” she told the graduands.
Head Boy, Head Girl Speak on Leadership and Service:
The Head Boy, Master Nwaneri Henry Chinedu, urged his fellow graduands to remain resilient as they move into the next stage of their lives.
He said the students were leaving school as confident young men and women equipped with knowledge, character and values, adding that failure should be seen as an opportunity to learn and grow.
The Head Girl, Miss Agbede Esther Wuraola, spoke on the importance of service in leadership:
According to her, leadership comes with responsibility, while the lessons received from the school had empowered students, particularly girls, to dream, lead and aspire to become better versions of themselves.
Guest Speaker Urges Students to Pursue Their Dreams:
The Guest Speaker, Mrs. Mojisola Komolafe, Partner/Human Capital Lead, LSSBI Advisory, advised the graduands to pursue their dreams with determination and avoid distractions.
She encouraged parents and guardians to provide the children with positive and godly role models who would inspire them to reach their full potential.
School Introduces Learning Management System:
The Vice Principal, Mr. Solomon Augustine (Solace), announced the introduction of a new Learning Management System (LMS) as part of the school’s efforts to strengthen digital learning and develop core life skills among students.
He said the initiative was designed to position the students to compete favourably with their peers globally.
“With our newly introduced Learning Management System, the school is repositioned to implement the development of Core Life Skills in our children, to make them at par with their mates globally,” he said.
Digital Technology Teacher Urges Students to Use Phones Productively
The school’s Digital Technology Teacher and Founder of Forge Intellitech, Mr. Adeniyi Macmoxie, challenged students to make productive use of technology and their personal devices.
He urged them to look beyond entertainment and social media and use smartphones and affordable laptops to develop practical skills, create projects and build portfolios that could open opportunities for them in the future.
He noted that the objective was to teach students how to think, create, communicate and solve problems, rather than simply acquire theoretical knowledge.
He cited Master James Philip Folorunsho, one of the students, as an example of how young people can begin turning digital skills into opportunities while still in school.
Outstanding Students Receive Awards
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to outstanding students from Nursery to SSS3 for academic excellence, leadership, character and good conduct.
The Good Value Award was presented to two outgoing graduands who distinguished themselves through exemplary character:

Master Mahmud Adam Oluwasemilore — Assistant Head Boy

Miss Agbede Esther Wuraola also received the Neatest Student Award in the SSS3 category, sharing the honour with Miss Oshiyemi Esther Tofunmi.
Cultural Performances, Prefect Inauguration Highlight Ceremony
The graduation ceremony also featured presentations by students from Nursery 2, Primary, JSS3, SSS1 and SSS3.
Other highlights included Igbo and Yoruba cultural dances, a performance by the Diamond Dancers, the launching of the 2026 Yearbook, and the inauguration of incoming prefects.
The school also used the occasion to appreciate parents and teachers for their contributions to the development and success of the students.
The ceremony ended with closing remarks, the singing of the closing hymn, “To God Be The Glory,” and a closing prayer.
The event provided an opportunity for the DAN & DAV Schools community to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 while encouraging the graduating students to uphold the values of leadership, discipline, character and service as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.
