Seventeen passengers narrowly escaped death on Sunday after the driver of a commercial bus suffered a seizure while driving on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.
The bus, which was travelling from Ajah to the mainland, veered dangerously towards the lagoon before a quick-thinking passenger took control of the steering wheel and safely brought it to a stop.
Confirming the incident, the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Adebayo Taofiq, said the driver was revived, while a passenger drove the bus to a safe location after crossing the bridge. No casualties were recorded.
