The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 Ogun State election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has called on party members across Ogun West Senatorial District to remain united, welcome new entrants into the party, and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the next general election.
Adeola made the call on Wednesday during the Ogun West APC Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Empire Ground, Ilaro.
The meeting, which is part of a wider consultation across the five local government areas of Ogun West Senatorial District, brought together party leaders, stakeholders and members from Imeko-Afon, Ipokia, Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa North and Yewa South to strengthen party cohesion, deepen stakeholder engagement and strategise for future electoral success.
Addressing the gathering, the senator stressed that the APC’s continued growth and electoral victories depend on unity, inclusiveness and collective commitment by members.
He urged party leaders to ensure that no member is sidelined while calling for the quick integration of new members who recently defected from other political parties into the APC.
According to him, every committed member has a vital role to play in strengthening the party’s structure and ensuring victory at future elections.
“The strength of our party lies in our unity, not in our differences. As our party continues to grow, we must open our doors and hearts to those who have chosen to join us. Every genuine member who embraces the ideals of the APC deserves equal respect and an opportunity to contribute.
“Let our guiding principle be ‘Don’t Leave Anybody Behind’ because every member has a role to play in building a stronger party. We must put aside personal interests, avoid divisions and work together with one purpose—to deliver good governance, secure greater victories for our people and ensure the success of ‘Operation Deliver Your Polling Unit’ through the commitment and active participation of every member,” Adeola said.
The meeting was attended by several APC leaders and government officials, including the APC Apex Leader in Ogun West, Chief Muftau Ajibola; the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun, and her husband, Hon. Abdulrazaq Balogun; Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; former Deputy Governor, Alhaja Salmot Badru; Minister of State for Health and Social Services, Dr. Kunle Isiaq Salako; Aare Onakakanfo of Aworiland, Hon. Lai Taiwo; and former Ogun State governorship candidate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade.
Others in attendance were former Speakers of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi and Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo; former Commissioner, Chief Samuel Aiyedogbon; APC senatorial candidate for Ogun West, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele; Commissioner for Budget, Hon. Olaolu Olabimtan; Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Jagunmolu Omoniyi; former Ogun APC Chairman, Chief Derin Odebiyi; member representing Ipokia State Constituency, Hon. Adebisi Oyedele (Citiside); and Pharmacist Lekan Asunin.
The consultative meeting forms part of Senator Adeola’s ongoing engagement with party leaders and members across Ogun West as the APC consolidates its structures and intensifies preparations ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
