Suspected kidnappers have abducted a pastor popularly known as “One Way” and another worshipper while they were praying on a mountain in the Byazin Millionaire Quarters area of Kubwa, within the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Sunday when the armed men stormed the prayer ground and whisked the victims away to an unknown destination.
Sources said the pastor’s family had repeatedly warned him against visiting the mountain due to growing insecurity in the area, but he continued holding prayer sessions there.
The abductors were later said to have contacted the pastor’s family using his mobile phone and demanded a ransom of N40 million for his release.
Residents also alleged that the family encountered difficulties while trying to report the incident, claiming they were referred between the Byazin Police Division and the FCT Police Command.
The latest abduction has heightened concerns among residents over the worsening security situation in the Byazin community, with many calling for urgent action to tackle the increasing cases of kidnapping in the area.
