Officers of the Public Relations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have recorded an outstanding achievement at the graduation ceremony of Senior Course 14 of the Nigeria Customs Service Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, emerging as the Overall Best and Second Best Graduating Students.
At the graduation ceremony held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Ahmed Makarfi Hall of the NCCSC, Chief Superintendent of Customs Ridwan Yusuf emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student, clinching three additional awards for his exceptional performance. He was closely followed by Chief Superintendent of Customs Nuruddeen Sa’idu, who was named the Second Best Graduating Student.
The feat underscores the professionalism, intellectual capacity, and leadership qualities of officers within the NCS Public Relations Unit, highlighting their ability to excel in one of the Service’s most rigorous professional development programmes.
Reacting to the achievement, the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Deputy Comptroller Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada, described the accomplishment as a proud moment for the Service and the Public Relations Unit.
According to him, the outstanding performance of the two officers reflects the strategic competence and administrative excellence that define the NCS Public Relations Unit.
Maiwada also noted that, based on established tradition, the exceptional performance of the officers could earn them appointments as Directing Staff at the College, where they would contribute to training future leaders of the Service.
While expressing delight over their career progression, he acknowledged that their possible departure from the Public Relations Unit would be a significant loss, given their professionalism, dedication, and valuable contributions to the team.
He congratulated the award-winning officers for bringing honour to the Nigeria Customs Service and wished them continued success as they embark on the next phase of their careers.
The graduation ceremony saw a total of 50 officers complete the Senior Course 14 programme, marking another milestone in the capacity-building efforts of the Nigeria Customs Service.
