The Nigeria–Britain Association (N-BA) has held its 57th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos, bringing together members from diverse professional and social backgrounds to review the association’s activities over the past financial year, assess its progress, and elect a new leadership for the 2026/2027 tenure.
The meeting reaffirmed the association’s commitment to strengthening relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom through dialogue, networking, and strategic collaboration across business, cultural, and professional sectors.
In line with the association’s constitution, Mr. Ademola Sanya was elected President. Dr. Bisi Bright emerged as Vice President, while Mr. Gafar Odubote was elected Honorary Secretary.
Also elected into the executive committee were Mrs. Funmilola Orokale as Honorary Treasurer and Mr. Adeleke Nadi as Assistant Honorary Secretary. In addition, 13 members were elected into the Governing Council to support the executive leadership in advancing the association’s strategic objectives.
Members of the association congratulated the newly elected officers and expressed confidence in their ability to provide effective leadership during their tenure.
In his acceptance remarks, the new President, Ademola Sanya, expressed appreciation to his predecessor, Mr. Sola Oyetayo, for his dedicated service and contributions, noting that his leadership helped strengthen the association’s institutional framework and strategic direction.
Sanya pledged that the new executive would build on the achievements of previous administrations by deepening stakeholder engagement, enhancing value for members, and strengthening the association’s role as a leading platform for Nigeria–UK relations in trade, culture, and professional exchange.
The Nigeria–Britain Association also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting mutual understanding and collaboration between Nigeria and the United Kingdom through structured programmes, policy dialogue, and strategic partnerships.
