Nigeria’s largest power generation company, Egbin Power, has recognised and rewarded exceptional employees for their outstanding contributions to the organisation’s success during its Employee Recognition Awards (ERA) 2026.
The annual awards ceremony, which brought together management and staff, celebrated top performers across various departments and reinforced the company’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and employee development.
Employees from Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Finance, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Control, Human Resources, Procurement, Capital Projects Delivery, Information Technology and Business Innovation, as well as Support Services, were honoured for their remarkable achievements and contributions to the company’s operations.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Top Performance Awards. Amos Oshanugo of the Instrumentation and Control Department emerged as the overall top performer and received a brand-new Chery Tiggo 2 Pro SUV as the grand prize. Chidima Celestine of the Operations Department and Endurance Otaru of the Business Operations Department were named first and second runners-up respectively, receiving cash rewards.
Speaking at the ceremony, Egbin Power’s Chief Executive Officer, Mokhtar Bounour, said the company remains committed to recognising employees who consistently demonstrate excellence and dedication.
“At Egbin Power, we believe excellence is not an accident. It is built through hard work, teamwork, and the courage to go beyond expectations. That is why we are passionate about celebrating excellence, commitment, teamwork, and the people whose efforts continue to power Egbin forward every day,” he said.
According to Bounour, the initiative recognises employees who consistently exceed expectations and make significant contributions to the organisation’s growth and success.
“When we celebrate results, we create a ripple effect. It motivates teams to raise the bar, strengthens accountability, and deepens our shared commitment to powering Nigeria.
Our people are our greatest asset, and their growth and success will always remain a priority,” he added.
Expressing gratitude after receiving the grand prize, Oshanugo attributed his achievement to teamwork and the support of the organisation.
“I give all glory to God for this incredible blessing and the grace to excel. I am deeply grateful to the Board, management, and leadership of Egbin Power for this recognition. This milestone belongs to all of us because at Egbin, we work as a team, and teamwork remains the key to our success,” he said.
Celestine described the award as a motivation to continue striving for excellence and contributing to the company’s goals.
“This recognition motivates me to work even harder, uphold excellence, and contribute more to our collective success. I remain committed to the values of safety, reliability, and teamwork that drive our plant forward,” she said.
Also speaking, Otaru commended the company’s leadership for fostering a culture that rewards excellence and encourages professional growth.
“Receiving this recognition inspires me to continue raising the bar, embracing new challenges, and contributing to the achievement of Egbin Power’s strategic objectives. This award reflects not only individual effort but also the support and collaboration of colleagues and management,” she noted.
Other employees across various departments were also recognised for their exceptional performance during the 2025 assessment year.
