Olusola Teniola, Director of Strategic Business Initiatives at ipNX, has been honoured with the Golden Leadership Excellence Award by the Yoruba Study Group.
Dr. Teniola received the award on Friday, April 4, 2026, at the ipNX Corporate Headquarters in Lagos.
He was recognised as an “Icon of Excellence and Most Outstanding Administrator of the Year 2025/2026” for his contributions to the advancement of Nigeria’s telecommunications industry and his commitment to improving affordable access to data and digital connectivity for Nigerians.
According to the organisers, the award celebrates Dr. Teniola’s embodiment of the Omoluabi ethos of Yorubaland, which emphasises integrity, diligence, excellence and strong character.
The Yoruba Study Group also acknowledged his contributions through his work with the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria and the Alliance for Affordable Internet, where he has played key roles in promoting policies and initiatives that support digital inclusion and connectivity across Nigeria.
In its citation, the organisation commended Dr. Teniola for his “exemplary contributions to the advancement and management of telecommunications in Nigeria, his unquantifiable efforts in ensuring affordable data for the teeming masses, and his outstanding record of quality service delivery.”
Reacting to the recognition, Dr. Teniola described the award as both a personal and collective achievement for stakeholders working to improve Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this award from the Yoruba Study Group. This recognition is not just a personal milestone, but a reflection of the collective efforts of industry stakeholders committed to advancing Nigeria’s digital future,” he said.
He added that he remains committed to promoting affordable connectivity, innovation and digital participation while upholding the values of integrity, excellence and service.
Founded in 2019, the Yoruba Study Group is dedicated to promoting Yoruba traditions, values and cultural heritage.
Speaking on the recognition, Mobolaji Caxton-Martins, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at ipNX Nigeria, described Dr. Teniola as a leader whose contributions continue to strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.
