The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, today paid a working visit to the Ibogun Campus of Olabisi Onabanjo University to assess the security situation and engage stakeholders on measures to strengthen safety within the institution and surrounding communities.

The Commissioner was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), DCP Bolanle Muritala, and the Area Commander, Ifo, ACP Seyi Williams.
Upon arrival, he held a strategic engagement with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Johnson Agboola; the Provost of the College of Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Professor Bashir Olufemi Odufuwa; His Royal Highness, Oba Timothy Sowumi, the Olu of Ibogun-Sowumi; as well as other principal officers of the institution and community leaders.
The meeting also included the Student Union Government leadership and students, who jointly raised concerns regarding security challenges on campus and in the host communities.
Stakeholders collectively agreed on the need for coordinated and practical interventions to address the issues.
CP Ojajuni assured all parties that the Command has carefully assessed the situation and will immediately strengthen policing around the university and adjoining communities.
He emphasized increased patrols, proactive policing strategies, and sustained stakeholder engagement to ensure a safe environment.
As part of the outcome of the visit, the Commissioner announced the establishment of a police post within the university community to enhance rapid response, improve visibility, and strengthen community policing efforts.
He also engaged sister security agencies, including the NSCDC, Amotekun Corps, and So-Safe Corps, on improved collaboration for effective security coverage.
The CP further visited the Ibogun Divisional Police Headquarters, where he interacted with officers, assessed operational readiness, and issued directives aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to community policing, inter-agency synergy, and continuous engagement with stakeholders to sustain peace and security across Ogun State.
