The Police Service Commission has announced that the written examination for applicants seeking enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force will hold from April 28 to April 30, 2026.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Commission said the examination is for candidates applying as Police Constables under both General Duty and Specialist categories. The exercise will be conducted at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the PSC, only applicants who successfully passed the earlier physical and credentials screening will be eligible to participate in the examination.
Qualified candidates have been advised to log on to the official recruitment portal from April 24, 2026, to print their Examination Invitation Card, which will contain details of their specific date, time, and venue.
The Commission outlined items required for the examination to include a pen, a National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission with a clear photograph, and the printed Examination Invitation Card. Candidates are also expected to appear in white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas.
The PSC reiterated that the recruitment process is entirely free, warning applicants to beware of fraudsters and avoid any form of financial inducement or job racketeering.
It stressed that anyone found engaging in fraudulent activities related to the recruitment exercise would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The statement was signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs (Spokesman) of the Police Service Commission, Abuja.
