The Church Administrators Society of Nigeria (CASON) has announced plans to launch Nigeria’s first-ever Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Church Administration, in collaboration with Babcock University.

The President of CASON, Pastor Seyi Oladimeji, disclosed this during his address at the recent graduation ceremony of participants in the Executive Diploma in Church Administration (EDCA), held at Babcock University’s main campus in Ilishan, Ogun State.
According to Oladimeji, the forthcoming MBA programme is designed as a transformational leadership pathway for pastors, church administrators, and ministry leaders seeking to combine spiritual calling with strategic and managerial competence.
He explained that the programme will go beyond traditional ministry training by equipping participants with advanced knowledge in leadership, governance, financial stewardship, organisational behaviour, and strategic management, all within a Christ-centred framework.
Oladimeji further noted that the MBA will empower participants to lead healthy and mission-driven churches by developing systems that promote growth, accountability, and long-term sustainability through a carefully structured curriculum that integrates business leadership with ministry practice.
He added that graduates of the programme would be well-prepared to navigate the complexities of modern ministry with wisdom and excellence, emerging not only as pastors or administrators but as transformational leaders capable of building resilient teams, managing resources effectively, and guiding churches into the future while remaining committed to the Great Commission.
Also speaking at the event, the President and Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, commended the collaboration with CASON, stressing the importance of continuous intellectual development.
“There is always a need to keep improving intellectually, especially in strengthening ourselves in identified weaknesses or knowledge gaps. This is why we are excited, as a foremost institution of academic excellence, to partner with CASON,” he said.
The EDCA graduation ceremony, the third in the series, was marked by a colourful display as graduands and faculty members of both CASON and Babcock University appeared in vibrant academic regalia, celebrating another milestone in church administration education in Nigeria.
