A Qatar Airways aircraft with 248 passengers and 12 crew members made an emergency landing at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on January 16, 2026, due to a technical fault. The pilot executed a safe landing, and all passengers were evacuated without injuries. Emergency responders, including LASEMA, LASAMBUS, and FAAN, were on standby.
After the incident, the aircraft was moved to the apron for inspection and repairs. Most passengers continued their journey, while a few were accommodated in hotels and rebooked on alternative flights. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirmed the incident, stating that the aircraft landed safely without incident .
