Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has unveiled newly acquired security drones aimed at strengthening the protection of lives and property across the state.
The drones are equipped with advanced surveillance and real-time intelligence capabilities designed to track criminal movements, monitor forests, and disrupt the operations of terrorists and bandits.
Speaking at the launch on Monday, Ododo reaffirmed his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on criminality, stressing that the state will neither negotiate with criminals nor allow any part of Kogi to be overrun by insecurity.
He described Kogi’s position as a strategic gateway between Northern and Southern Nigeria, making enhanced security measures imperative. The governor also highlighted ongoing efforts to build an intelligence-led security framework through technology, community participation, and inter-agency collaboration.
Ododo thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies for their support, while commending vigilantes, hunters, and community leaders for their role in sustaining peace in the state.
