Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has visited the widow and daughter of the Anglican priest who was recently killed by kidnappers, offering condolences and pledging government support to the bereaved family.
The governor paid the visit following the release of the priest’s wife and daughter, who were abducted alongside him before his tragic death in captivity. During the visit, Governor Sani described the killing as a painful loss not only to the family and the Anglican Church but also to the entire Kaduna State.
He expressed deep sympathy to the widow and her daughter, assuring them that the state government would stand by them in this difficult time. According to the governor, arrangements would be made to provide immediate and long-term support, including assistance with welfare and education.
Governor Sani condemned the activities of kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorising communities in the state, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening security and bringing perpetrators to justice. He noted that security agencies were working tirelessly to dismantle criminal networks and prevent further attacks on innocent citizens.
The governor also called on residents to continue supporting security efforts by providing timely and credible information, stressing that collective action was key to restoring peace and safety across Kaduna State.
Leaders of the Anglican Church who accompanied the governor appreciated the visit and the assurances given, describing it as a show of compassion and responsible leadership. They urged the government to sustain efforts aimed at ending kidnapping and violent crimes in the state.
The visit ended with prayers for the repose of the slain priest’s soul and for healing and comfort for his grieving family.
