The presiding pastor of The Carpenter’s Church, Pastor Nkechi Ene, has passed away shortly after returning from a ministry trip.
Pastor Sola Akinwale, speaking on behalf of the church, made the announcement in a statement released on Friday. He revealed that Pastor Ene suffered a health crisis shortly after her return to Nigeria.
The statement read:
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing into glory of God’s servant, our Presiding Pastor, our Mother-in-Israel, Pastor Nkechi Ene. As our hearts hurt and questions assail our minds, we rest assured in the unwavering truth that God is good and His mercies endure forever.
“She has now heard the words from her Master, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.’”
The church requested prayers for her family, especially her four daughters — Zoe, Chloe, Tracy, and Osi.
As a church family, we acknowledge that this is a challenging time for us. At times like these, we must embrace, comfort, and encourage one another, starting with our pastor’s family,”the statement added.
Before her passing, Pastor Nkechi led The Carpenter’s Church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. She was widely respected for her in-depth, Bible-based teachings and unwavering dedication to ministry.
She began her pastoral journey under the mentorship of the church’s founding pastor and her late husband, Pastor Charles Ene. Following his death in 2013, she continued to lead and grow the ministry, expanding its outreach through media broadcasts and community programs..
